Los Angeles

Los Angeles is the cultural, financial, and commercial center of Southern California. It is the second most popular city in the United States, after New York City. It the most popular city in the western United States and in California. It is nicknamed the “City of Angels”. I have been to a few tourist attraction sites in Los Angeles like Universal Studios and the Hollywood sign. There are many other attraction sites in Los Angeles like Disneyland, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the Dodger Stadium.

The Hollywood sign is an American landmark and cultural icon overlooking Hollywood. It is located on Mount. Lee, in the Hollywood Hills area of the Santa Monica Mountains. The average stay there is an hour and forty-five minutes. The total length of the sign is 450 feet and each letter measures 45 feet high! There is no access to the Hollywood sign, as it sits on restricted property. However, there are a few scenic view points that allow fantastic pictures!

The Hollywood Walk of Fame contains more than 2,600 brass stars recognizing famous people. The stars are permanent public monuments that show the achievements in the entertainment industry. The stars bear the names of famous actors, musicians, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, and others. The idea of creating the walk of fame came about in 1953. Famous people can have multiple stars, but they must be in different categories. Fictional characters were also included in the walk of fame. Some of those characters include Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny, Kermit the Frog, Donald Duck, Winnie the Pooh, and Snoopy. Other interesting facts about the walk of fame is that four stars have been stole. Also, there is a time capsule located under it. It is for the people of 2060.

The last attraction site I will talk about is the Dodger Stadium. The Dodger Stadium is a baseball park, and it is the home field to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the city’s Major League Baseball franchise. It opened 56 years ago, on April 10, 1962. It was constructed in less than three years and it cost $23 million. The architect is Captain Emil Praeger. The stadium has a capacity of 56,000 people. The stadium was featured in a few films such as The Fast and the Furious and Transformers. The final fun fact is that the Dodgers Stadium sells the most hot dogs of all MLB parks!

Los Angeles has many more attractions which I have not mentioned. The attraction I would mostly want to go to is the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It looks like an interesting place and it would be fun to see how many names I know. Although I am not a fan of baseball, I kind of want to go to the Dodger Stadium because I want to experience the fun and the excitement. Overall, Los Angeles is a fun place to be in, so I hope I can go there again sometime soon.
